Paris 2024: What you can expect to watch today

It’s finally here: day one of the Paris 2024 Olympics is upon us.

This piece will take you through what you can expect to watch on the BBC on Saturday.

Throughout the Games, the BBC will have the choice of a network TV channel and a second broadcast stream.

That means we can show the two most exciting or important events happening at any moment live at the same time.

And because of the way the Olympics schedule works, it means there will almost never be a big medal moment or race or tearful interview we can’t bring you.

Broadcaster Discovery+ is the rights holder showing every moment of the Games in the UK.

The Discovery+ app and Eurosport channels will air more than 3,800 hours of live coverage in total from 07:00 to 22:30 BST each day. Discovery+ and Eurosport requires a subscription. You can find more information here.

10:00 BST: Women’s 3m synchro diving final.

11:00 BST: Swimming heats.

Midday: Rowing heats.

13:00 BST: Road cycling – women’s time trial.

14:00 BST: Road cycling – women’s time trial.

15:00 BST: Rugby sevens highlights. Road cycling – men’s time trial. Women’s judo.

16:00 BST: Road cycling – men’s time trial.

17:00 BST: Skateboarding men’s street final.

18:10 BST: Switch to BBC Two. Highlights of rugby sevens men’s bronze match.

18:30 BST: Back to BBC One for rugby seven’s men’s team final.

19:00 BST: Swimming for much of the rest of the evening.
