England’s women have announced a home Test against Wales this autumn – and the wheelchair side have set up another World Cup final rematch with France.

The wheelchair team take on France on Saturday, 26 October, at Wigan’s Robin Park Arena (14:30 BST) – the day before the men’s team play the first of two Tests against Samoa, at the neighbouring Brick Community Stadium.

Stuart Barrow’s women’s side will face Wales at AMT Headingley on Saturday, 2 November at 12:00 GMT – as part of a double-header in Leeds with the men’s second Test against Samoa.

All four of those matches, across both weekends, will be televised live in the UK by BBC Sport.

It means both the women and the wheelchair sides will both play a home international in 2024.

The women’s team’s only match in the calendar year so far was a 42-0 mid-season win over France in Toulouse in June.

Their next scheduled match after facing Wales will be against Australia in Las Vegas on 1 March next year.

Tom Coyd’s wheelchair side last played in November, when they faced France twice – losing 43-34 in Leeds before winning 34-18 in Marseille.

They memorably beat France at Manchester Central in November 2022 with a late Tom Halliwell try to win a dramatic Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup final.

It was confirmed in June that Shaun Wane’s men’s side would face a two-Test home series in Samoa.

That will be Samoa’s first Test series in England, and their first visit to the country since knocking the hosts out of the last men’s World Cup with a 27-26 golden-point victory in November 2022.
