Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.24%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the added 0.24%.

The best performers of the session on the were Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:), which rose 3.90% or 1.10 points to trade at 29.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT:) added 3.54% or 0.17 points to end at 4.97 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:) was up 3.47% or 0.50 points to 14.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Iktinos Hellas (AT:), which fell 2.74% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.36 at the close. Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:) declined 2.42% or 0.24 points to end at 9.69 and Alumil (AT:) was down 2.42% or 0.10 points to 4.03.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 78 to 41 and 23 ended unchanged.

Shares in Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.90% or 1.10 to 29.30.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.13% or 30.59 to $2,748.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.85% or 0.67 to hit $78.04 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.64 to trade at $81.39 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 108.85.
