Alex Hales smashed 68 off 42 balls and Rashid Khan took four wickets in a sublime spell to help Trent Rockets beat London Spirit by 22 runs in the men’s Hundred.
Former England batter Hales hit three fours and five sixes in a superb knock as Rockets posted 166-4 at Trent Bridge.
Hales shared a 69-run partnership with Tom Banton (36 off 25) and a 58-run stand with Joe Root (32 off 23) to punish some wayward Spirit bowling.
In reply, Spirit slumped to 52-5 as batters struggled with the leg-spin of Rashid (4-24), who took two wickets in two balls and a wicket with his final delivery.
Matt Critchley (37 off 30) tried to haul Spirit back into the game but they were all out for 144 in 97 balls.
