Phoenix won by 10 wickets
Ben Stokes was bowled for a first-ball duck in his first Hundred match for three years as his Northern Superchargers side were convincingly beaten by Birmingham Phoenix at Edgbaston.
Stokes was dismissed by a brilliant Tim Southee yorker as the Superchargers struggled to 83 all out – the third-lowest total in the Hundred’s men’s competition.
England’s Ben Duckett (43 off 20) and Moeen Ali (37 off 21) then led Phoenix to the competition’s first 10-wicket victory in just 39 balls.
Moeen struck a six off the final ball to secure the fastest chase in the Hundred as Phoenix moved above their opponents into third place on six points.
England captain Stokes was playing in just his third Hundred match and his first since the competition’s debut season in 2021.
Before the match he confirmed to Sky Sports he is hoping to play in the Superchargers’ remaining three group matches before England’s Test series with Sri Lanka, which starts at Old Trafford on 21 August.

Match hero Southee: “We assessed conditions reasonably quickly and the seamers hitting their lengths helped that. A great performance all-round.
“It’s a great team to be a part of, and it’s nice to talk up another win along the way. It’s always nice to win.
