POL prices likely to go up from July 1

ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended an increase in the prices of petroleum products from July 1, sources said Wednesday.According to the sources in OGRA a summary in this regard has been submitted to the Ministry of Petroleum.According to the summary, the regulatory body has proposed an increase of Rs1.93 per litre on petrol, Rs3.75 per litre on diesel, Rs5.38 per litre on light diesel oil, Rs8.62 per litre on kerosene oil and Rs3.53 per litre on HOBC.However, a final decision in this regard would be taken by the Ministry of Finance after consultation with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.On April 1, the government had raised the tariffs of petroleum products.The price of petrol and diesel was increased by Rs1.50 and Rs1.40 respectively.
